Emergency Management in Ontario (EM-200) - June 2024
In this 3-day course, participants will get a comprehensive view of emergency management in Ontario. Students will learn about emergency management as it applies to federal, provincial, and municipal governments as well as first nations communities, businesses and personal preparedness. Included in this course, at no additional cost, is the Basic Emergency Management (EM-200) certificate from Emergency Management Ontario.
The course is delivered by an Instructor endorsed by Emergency Management Ontario and will be offered virtually on June 24-26, 2024. Due to the training policies of Emergency Management Ontario, the course must have a minimum of 8 students and is limited to a maximum of 15.
Days 1 and 2 of this course are asynchronous, meaning that the lectures have been pre-recorded and learners can access the lecture material when it is convenient for them. Students can choose to complete the Day 1 and 2 lecture material, independently, at any point during the week prior to the class. These lecture videos are augmented with discussion boards and review questions to ensure that learners are understanding the content.
Day 3 will be held in a virtual classroom environment where students will engage in live discussions, exercises, and mock emergency situations. Following this interactive day, participants will confidently write the EM-200 certification exam and complete the course.
Emergency Management Ontario will process all certifications directly and produce a certificate of completion to successful participants.
